Abstract:

Sepsis is a type of severe systemic suppurative infection that can cause shock and dysfunction of multiple organs. It possesses the characteristics of high morbidity, high mortality, and high treatment cost. Sepsis can directly lead to multiple organ failure, which is one of the main causes of death of severe patients. Although researchers have had a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of sepsis, the current treatment measures, such as anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation, anti-platelet aggregation, and anti-microcirculation failure, have not significantly reduced the risk of death. At present, researchers have found that plant extraction and synthetic reagent resveratrol has obvious anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects and can improve sepsis induced body injury and increase survival rate; however, the exact mechanism of action is not completely clear. This review summarizes the protective effect and mechanism of resveratrol in sepsis induced body injury, with an aim to provide new clues to the treatment of sepsis.
