Abstract:

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are mesenchymal tumors commonly seen in the digestive system and have the potential for malignant transformation. With the continuous development of endoscopic techniques, more and more gastrointestinal stromal tumors have been discovered early, which provides the possibility of early complete resection by endoscopy. Endoscopic treatment is widely used in clinical practice with small trauma, shortened hospital stay, sedation process, relatively low hospitalization costs, and less human resources required compared with open surgery. This article reviews the progress of endoscopic treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors and the advantages and disadvantages of such treatment.
