Abstract:

Objective

To understand the distribution and drug resistance of acinetobacter baumannii isolated from patients in the department of critical care, and to provide a reasonable basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Methods

A total of 1902 specimens were collected from the department of critical care, Heping Hospital Affiliated to Changzhi Medical College from January 2017 to December 2018. The pathogens were isolated by automated instruments and paper diffusion method, and the results of drug susceptibility tests were interpreted according to the 27th edition of folding point standard released by the American association for clinical and laboratory standards in 2017.

Results

A total of 1166 pathogenic bacteria were isolated, including 325 strains of acinetobacter baumandii, accounting for 17.09% (325/1902). The positive samples were mainly from sputum (73.54%, 239/325). The drug susceptibility results showed that the resistance rate of the bacteria to cefoperazone/sulbactam, levofloxacin and compound nephrine was relatively low (45.40%~60.90%), while the resistance to carbapenem antibiotics was relatively high (2017: 69.20%, 2018: 75.30%).

Conclusion

The infection rate of acinetobacter baumannii in the intensive care unit of Heping Hospital Affiliated to Changzhi Medical College is slightly higher, and there is a phenomenon of multiple drug resistance. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the drug monitoring of this pathogen and take reasonable management measures, so as to provide a basis for rational clinical selection of antibiotics.
