Abstract:

Objective

To explore the ways of using drugs to prevent infection during the perioperative period of cesarean section.

Methods

Pregnant women who were hospitalized at the Department of Obstetrics of Tengzhou Central People's Hospital from March 1 to October 31, 2018 were randomly divided into either a study group or a control group. The study group (60 cases) received intravenous drip of 1.5 g cefuroxime sodium within 30 minutes before the cesarean section, and no antibiotics were used after the operation. The control group (60 cases) received intravenous drip of 1.5 g cefuroxime sodium within 2 hours bid for a total of four times. The general situation and indexes of the two groups after operation were compared.

Results

There was no significant difference in puerperal morbidity, body temperature, abdominal incision infection, routine blood parameters, C-reactive protein, or procalcitonin between the two groups (P>0.05).

Conclusion

Single use of antibiotics within 30 minutes before cesarean section can effectively prevent postoperative infection, which is conductive to maternal postpartum recovery.

Key words: Cesarean section, Infection prevention, Antibiotic prophylaxis
