Abstract:
Objective To explore how to effectively use systematic tools to improve professional abilities of medical staff by providing training curriculums on the knowledge, attitude, and skill required for medical technology and quality of care.
Methods Yiwu Maternal and Child Health Hospital started using the Taiwan training quality system (TTQS) in 2018. In 2019, we collected the results of a structured satisfaction questionnaire that 170 trainees filled out via WeChat online after training curriculums to analyze the curriculum satisfaction of new staff and current staff. Differences in curriculum satisfaction scores were compared between the two groups by the t-test, and factors affecting overall satisfaction were tested by multiple regression analysis.
Results New staff’s curriculum satisfaction and applicability of training curriculums to practical work were significantly higher than those of current staff (all P<0.001). Education level (bachelor degree) was one of the factors affecting overall curriculum satisfaction. On the whole, there were appreciated effects with regard to curriculum satisfaction and practical application in both new and current staff.
Conclusion New staff could apply the knowledge and skill learned from training curriculums to practical work more effectively through the TTQS training system. In this way, new staff could be put into work quickly and the training time could be reduced.
