Abstract:

Based on the analysis of clinical manifestations and infection-associated biomarkers from 494 patients admitted to Beijing Ditan Hospital due to infectious mononucleosis, hemorrhagic fever renal syndrome, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, epidemic encephalitis B, and rabies from 2014 to 2018, this report revealed that infections caused by Epstein-Barr virus, hantavirus, enterovirus type 71, encephalitis B virus, and rabies virus tend to result in elevated peripheral blood leukocytes in patients, which reminds us to take into account the possibility of virus infection even when elevated peripheral blood leucocyte count is observed.
