Abstract:

Objective

To explore the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with intelligent exercise training system for lower limbs on motor function and nerve function in patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction.

Methods

From January 2019 to January 2021, 120 patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction were selected at Qianxinan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using the random number table method, the patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 60 cases in each group. Both groups were given basic treatment and treated with an intelligent sports training system, and the observation group was additionally treated with acupuncture and moxibustion. The treatment course of both groups was 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy, lower limb motor function, neurological function, and quality of life of the two groups were compared before and 4 weeks after treatment.

Results

The total effective rate (95.00%) of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (78.33%; P<0.05). After 4 weeks of treatment, the lower limb FMA and BBS scores were increased in both groups (P<0.05); these scores in the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). After 4 weeks of treatment, the NIHSS score was decreased in both groups (P<0.05); this score in the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Compared with the values before treatment, the scores of emotional function, physical function, social function, and mental health in both groups increased after 4 weeks of treatment (P<0.05); these scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with lower limbs intelligent exercise training system has a significant effect on patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction, and can improve their lower limb motor function and nerve function.
