Abstract:

Objective

To assess the clinical significance of serum levels of amyloid A (SAA), C-reactive protein (CRP), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in early pregnancy patients with missed abortion.

Methods

A total of 104 patients with missed abortion in early pregnancy at Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Hubei from September 2019 to January 2020 were selected as an observation group, and 103 pregnant women who voluntarily requested termination of pregnancy were selected as a control group. The patients in the two groups were examined for the serum levels of SAA, CRP, and ALT. Logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the risk factors for missed abortion during early pregnancy.

Results

Serum levels of SAA, CRP, and ALT in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The area under the curve of serum SAA for the diagnosis of missed abortion in early pregnancy was 0.607 (P<0.05), suggesting that serum SAA has diagnostic and predictive value for missed abortion. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age, pregnancy history, childbirth history, miscarriage, and dysmenorrhea were not independent risk factors for missed abortion (P>0.05).

Conclusion

Serum levels of SAA, CRP, and ALT significantly increase in early pregnancy patients with missed abortion, and the high expression of these indicators might be involved in the occurrence and development of missed abortion.

Key words: Serum amyloid A, C-reactive protein, Missed abortion
