Abstract:

Preeclampsia is a serious complication of pregnancy, mainly characterized by hypertension and proteinuria and other clinical manifestations. Severe cases can endanger the lives of mothers and infants. In recent years, studies have shown that preeclampsia is caused by a variety of factors, although the specific cause is not very clear. The balance of placental macrophage-trophoblast interactions plays an important role in the development of normal pregnancy. Normal expression of cluster of differentiation 74 (CD74) and MIF plays an important role in the interaction between placental macrophages and trophoblast cells, which is one of the focuses of current research. Here we will review the role of CD74 and MIF in placental macrophage-trophoblast interaction in preeclampsia in order to further explore the pathogenesis of this disease.

Key words: Macrophage-trophoblast cell interactions, CD74, MIF, Placenta formation, Preeclampsia
