Clinical characteristics of mental disorders caused by craniocerebral trauma

Abstract:

Objective

To analyze the relationship and clinical characteristics of craniocerebral trauma and accompanying mental disorders.

Methods

Clinical data of 180 patients with mental disorders caused by craniocerebral trauma at our hospital were analyzed retrospectively.

Results

Mental disorders occurred in all 180 patients with craniocerebral injury, including 87 (48.33%) cases of mental impairment syndrome, 27 (15.00%) cases of neurotic syndrome, 21 (11.67%) cases of amnesia syndrome, 21 (11.67%) cases of psychotic symptoms, 12 (6.67%) cases of affective disorder syndrome, and 12 (6.67%) cases of personality change. Frontal and temporal lobe injury especially easily induced mental disorder.

Conclusion

Craniocerebral trauma may lead to mental disorders. Attention should be paid to the identification and treatment of mental disorders caused by craniocerebral trauma.
