Abstract:

Objective

To observe the effect of integrated medical and nursing management mode on medication compliance and complications in elderly patients with heart failure treated with sakubatrel/valsartan.

Methods

One hundred and six patients with heart failure admitted to the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital from January to December 2020 were included, and they were treated with sakobutrel/valsartan on the basis of conventional treatments such as cardiac strengthening and diuretic after admission. The 106 patients were divided into two groups according to the management mode used after admission: 55 cases managed conventionally were included in a control group and 51 patients managed using integrated medical and nursing management mode were included in an integrated medical care group. The patients were followed for 6 months after discharge. The differences in total efficacy, satisfaction, compliance, and complication rates between the two groups were observed after discharge.

Results

At the 6-month follow-up after discharge, the complication rate in the integrated medical care group was significantly reduced compared with that of the control group (P<0.05), while the overall effective rate, medication compliance, and satisfaction were significantly higher (P<0.05).

Conclusion

For elderly heart failure patients treated with sakubatrel/valsartan, the integrated medical and nursing management mode can effectively improve patients' medication compliance after discharge, reduce the complication rate, and improve the overall efficacy.
