Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the value of risk management combined with positive psychological care in preventing the risk of mechanical phlebitis in patients with peripherally inserted central catheterization (PICC).

Methods

A total of 116 patients with PICC admitted to Beijing Shijitan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from May 2020 to October 2020 were selected as the study subjects, and they were randomly divided into an observation group (58 cases) and a control group (58 cases). The control group was nursed according to the conventional nursing method for PICC, and the observation group was nursed based on the risk management combined with positive psychological nursing prevention. PICC time, success rate of one puncture, and success rate of one catheterization were recorded in the two groups. The occurrence of mechanical phlebitis in the two groups was recorded 1 week after catheterization.

Results

Compared with the control group, the operation time of catheterization was significantly shorter (P<0.05), and the incidence of mechanical phlebitis in the observation group was significantly lower (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Risk management combined with positive psychological nursing can reduce the incidence of mechanical phlebitis in patients with PICC.
