Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the current situation and market demand of medical nursing assistants in public hospitals in Suzhou, find and analyze problems, and put forward corresponding suggestions, so as to provide a basis for the steady implementation of long-term care insurance program.

Methods

The convenience sampling method was used to investigate 195 nursing assistants and 85 patients (or family members) from four tertiary hospitals in Suzhou by questionnaire survey.

Results

Nursing assistants had low academic qualification and weak safety awareness. There was a lack of standardized training institutions. Patients (or their families) had low satisfaction with nursing assistants, and their high demand cannot be met.

Conclusion

Taking the promotion of long-term care insurance as the starting point, we should strengthen the education of medical nursing assistants, carry out skill training, improve their safety awareness, establish clear job responsibilities, and establish standardized training institutions to meet the needs of patients (or their families) with high-quality care.
