Abstract:

Paraganglioma (PGL) is a rare neuroendocrine tumor. Up to now, cases of retroperitoneal PGL involving the inferior vena cava have rarely been reported. Due to the peculiarity of tumor location and invasion to adjacent vessels, it is difficult and risky to perform complete resection. In this paper, we report a case of successful surgical resection of a giant retroperitoneal PGL invading the inferior vena cava.
