Abstract:
Objective
To assess the social and economic benefits as well as the patient’s satisfaction in the member hospitals before and after the reform in pediatric compact medical alliance of Beijing municipal hospitals, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the further reform of compact pediatric medical alliance in Beijing and in China.
Methods
Eleven indicators, which reflect social and economic benefits as well as the patient’s satisfaction in the member hospitals of the pediatric compact medical alliance in the year before the reform, the year of the reform, a year after the reform, and in 2023 were assessed by the method of Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS).
Results
The comprehensive benefits of general hospitals (e.g.,Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University) in the pediatric compact medical alliance all improved after the reform, with the best and worst comprehensive benefits observed in 2023 and the year of the reform, respectively. The comprehensive benefits of maternal and child care service centres as well as pediatric hospitals in the pediatric compact medical alliance all observably improved after the reform, and comprehensive benefits in the year of the reform was greater than that in the year before the reform.
Conclusion
The reform of pediatric compact medical alliance improves the comprehensive benefits of its member hospitals, especially in maternal and child care service centres and pediatric hospitals.
