Abstract:

Quorum sensing (QS) system is a common mechanism for bacteria to regulate the population physiological behavior, which is related to the density of bacteria. Bacterial QS system regulates many specific functions such as bacterial biofilm resistance. It has been found that the QS system plays an important role in the occurrence and development of bacterial resistance. Therefore, it is essential to further study the relationship between bacterial biofilm and the QS system and understand the role of the QS system in the development of drug resistance of bacterial biofilm, so as to provide a new therapeutic concept for clinical practice. In this paper, we review the role of the QS system in the regulation of bacterial biofilm resistance.

Key words: Quorum sensing system, Bacterial biofilm, Drug resistance
