Abstract:

Pain is usually related to individual behaviors and emotions. The occurrence of chronic abdominal pain symptoms predicts more severe and adverse outcomes of depression and poorer health-related quality of life. Therefore, relief of pain symptoms is a common goal in the treatment of centrally mediated abdominal pain syndrome (CAPS) and depression. The comorbid mechanism of CAPS and depression is still not clear, but more and more research suggests that CAPS and depression may have some common pathogenesis. This article reviews the research on the relationship between CAPS and depression in recent years and the common pathogenesis of the two.
