Abstract:

Bronchial asthma is the most common chronic airway disease in childhood. It poses a serious threat to children's physical health and a heavy mental and economic burden on families and society. However, childhood asthma control in China is not satisfactory yet. This is due to the lack of understanding of the disease among children and parents, and the unequal level of standardized management among clinicians. Shared decision-making (SDM) can strengthen the knowledge of children and parents and improve children's health, optimize the use of medical resources and reduce unnecessary medical expenses and medical disputes. This article reviews the application of SDM in children with asthma.
