Characteristics of early-onset colorectal cancer and comparisons between China and the West

Abstract:

The incidence of colorectal cancer in young people is on the rise all over the world. Compared to ordinary colorectal cancer, the epidemiologic features, clinical characteristics, pathological pattern, and genetic mutations of colorectal cancer in young people are different. In addition, there are also significant differences in some features of colorectal cancer in young Chinese and Western populations. This review is aimed at the above aspects, in order to answer the relevant debate over the characteristics of colorectal cancer in young populations.
