Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical features and prognosis of Sertoli cell tumor of testis.

Methods

The clinical data of 2 patients with Sertoli cell tumor of testis were retrospectively analyzed and discussed with related literature.

Results

Two patients were treated with radical orchiectomy and were diagnosed as Sertoli cell tumor by postoperative pathology. The first patient underwent retroperitoneal lymph node dissection and postoperative radiotherapy because of retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis 10 months after operation. He died of lung metastasis 22 months after orchiectomy. The second patient did not receive radiotherapy or chemotherapy after operation, and no tumor recurrence or metastasis was found after 87 months of follow-up.

Conclusion

Sertoli cell tumor of testis is difficult to make a definite diagnosis before operation. Radical orchiectomy is recommended. Postoperative metastasis can be diagnosed as malignant with poor prognosis. Regular follow-up after operation is required.
